- Where did Swarovski Crystals originate?
The genesis of Swarovski crystal was in 1892 when the automatic cutting machine was invented by Daniel Swarovski. A few years later, he opened his first crystal cutting plant in Wattens Austria.
Swarovski crystal contains around 32% lead to optimize refraction. The crystals are then selectively coated with a unique metallic chemical to allow light to refract in a rainbow display. Interestingly enough, Aurora Borealis is one of the most popular coatings because it creates rainbow-like oil slick appearance on the surface of the crystal. Of course, there are many other coating types and application methods used to distinguish one crystal from another like Aurum, Dorado, Volcano, and Crystal Transmission.
Swarovski Crystals are manufactured using a wide range of crystals, including crystal sculptures and miniatures, jewelry and couture, home decor, chandeliers, as well as beads and rhinestones for manufacturers and artists.

- What materials are used to make your bracelets?
Bellisimo Bracelets only uses the finest quality components for our jewelry. All of our bracelets are strung on 49 strand Beadalon® or Soft Flex® nylon coated stainless steel wire, which is the finest jewelry wire available.
Our Letter Cubes, Round Silver Beads, Sparkle Beads, Lobster Clasps, Toggles and Charms are made of genuine .925 silver. We also use Bali Silver spacers.
We use genuine Swarovski Crystals and Pearls and Grade A Fiber Optic “Cat’s Eye” Beads.
Some of our designs include polymer clay beads, which are baked and glazed, but character ones with arms or legs are very fragile. We recommend these be worn for special occasions or with caution to ensure they will not be broken. The round polymer beads should be fine for everyday use.

- How do I right-size my new bracelet?
When determining what size to order, keep in mind that our stated length is from one end of the clasp to the other end. Children’s bracelets that use a “growth chain” are measured from the clasp to the first link in the chain.
For adults, with a flexible measuring tape, measure your wrist at the wrist bone (the measuring tape should be touching the skin, but not too tight) and add ¾ to 1 inch to that measurement. For children, measure the wrist and add ½ inch. A “growth chain” is included with all of our children’s bracelets, which will allow your child’s bracelet to grow with her.
If your bracelet is a surprise and you don’t have an exact measurement we have a sizing guide. Please remember the sizes listed below are considered to be an average:
Preemie~ 3.5 inches
Newborn – 6 months ~ 4 inches
6-12 Months ~ 4.5 inches
12-24 Months ~ 5 inches
2-5 Years ~ 5.5 inches
6-8 Years ~ 6 inches
9-13 Years ~ 6.5 inches
Adult Small ~ 6.5- 7 inches
Adult Medium ~ 7-7.5 inches
Adult Large ~ 7.5-8 inches

- How do I care for my new bracelet?
Sterling silver can tarnish, this is a natural process caused by oxidation. It will not damage the silver and you can easily remove it by rubbing the beads gently with a soft, treated polishing cloth. You can purchase one from us for $2.50. Never use tarnish-removing dips, which remove the decorative oxidation. This oxidation is especially seen on the letter cubes and Bali silver. By wearing your bracelet often, the oils from your body will help reduce tarnishing.
Be careful with the polishing cloth around the Swarovski crystals on your bracelet. A tarnish cloth can remove the AB coating on some crystals. To clean your Swarovski or glass beads, use a mild soap and water solution and pat dry.
We recommend that you do not wear your Beaded Bracelet when swimming, bathing, cleaning, or exercising. Also, it is a good idea to put your Swarovski jewelry on after applying perfume, hand cream, or hair spray. These chemicals are hard on jewelry. We also recommend that you remove your bracelet when you sleep to minimize the stress on all moving parts. Bellisimo Bracelets uses the strongest jewelry wire in the industry, but with wear and tear the wire may eventually need replacing.
